I was looking into my temp directory and saw thousands of *.tmp-shm files with a new one being created at least every minute. I found that only by shutting down Boxcryptor could I get this files to stop being created. What are these files and why are so many being created? I am using version 2.5.484.
.tmp-shm files(9 posts) (3 voices)
same problem here on 2 systems : Win10-64 and Win10-32 BC 2.5.484
up to 8 files in appdata\local\temp each minute
Today I installed the latest update version 2.6.493 on my Windows 10-64 machine and same problem. I'm getting about four *.tmp-shm files created every minute in appdata\local\temp. I could understand if some temp files are created and then deleted daily for example or at some point but none of these are ever deleted.
same here : V 2.6.493 is generating too 8 .tmp-shm files each minute Win 10-32 actual build....
We have identified the cause for the problem and will fix it in the next version which is due in the coming days.
thanks Robert, many thanks also from my SSD systemdisk for increasing her lifetime ;)
Ditto from me. Thanks for the coming fix.
I just wanted to keep in the loop that the next release has been delayed a little bit due to the new Smart Sync feature Dropbox released to early access customers a few days ago. In order to support it properly in Boxcryptor, we need to make a few changes and we'd like to include these already in the next release.
Sorry for the delay,
